“I realized that thriving was far more livable and present than achieving.” Beebe Bahrami
While reading the wonderful book “Café Oc: A Nomad’s Tales of Magic, Mystery, and Finding Home in the Dordogne of Southwestern France” by Beebe Bahrami, the abovementioned quote jumped from the page.
I truly believe that we should always focus on doing our best, giving our 100% (whatever that may be on any given day), and feel proud of ourselves.
If any recognition or prize derive from this, well, excellent; however, what should be in our hearts & minds is not the need to win or achieve, but the importance of learning and flourishing.
When we focus upon achieving & winning, we constantly fear “losing,” whereas, when our emphasis is upon thriving, we enjoy the learning process, feel joyous, and spread our light.
Compete to win, but against yourself and your previous achievements, not to defeat others.
