Tails, Tales & Trails towards Heaven on Earth

“Wisdom begins in Wonder”

~ Socrates

Wonderlust ? No, it is not a typo, this blog really will highlight the animals, places, situations and experiences that have enriched my life and made me wonder at the magnificence and beauty of our Mother Earth. For long I have believed that if we attune our senses and open our hearts and minds to the wonders of God´s Creation, we can find Heaven on Earth!

When you notice the details, big or small, and the blessings that surround you, your focus switches to the positive and upbeat. Always remember to be grateful, since gratitude is the greatest step in our path of awareness and fulfillment. A light-filled and grateful heart is magical!

So, what do you wonder at?

Spring has Sprung

Even as more places are going into lockdown, and the world as we know it is unfortunately consumed by the fear virus, thankfully, our beautiful Mother Earth is beginning to heal. Not only have the weeks of lockdown had a positive impact on the air, water and earth in areas of China and Italy, but remember that this is the season when life starts to flourish, when seeds below the earth are sprouting roots and trees are full of budding flowers…. the air is beginning to change, animals and nature perceive that the time for rebirth is upon us … Nature follows its course and serves as our role model.

After winter, the time when life goes into hibernation – not just for bears – into a place and time of healing, recovery and rest, when life is growing again under the surface, just as the days are growing longer and the sun´s rays are becoming hotter, we all need to give ourselves the opportunity to go within, to seek a place of solitude, and of greater connection with our Creator, with our families, and ultimately, with ourselves.

Winter is sometimes seen as the season of death so that life may return once more during spring. However, I perceive it as a time of slumber, reflection and reconnection, one which is needed to review our dreams, what we want to create, what we desire to manifest.

If we see the beginning of spring in 2020 as the opportunity to become introspective, we shall see that God has allowed, or forced us, to go within and re-evaluate our priorities, starting with our spirituality, our love for ourselves and others – animals, nature and people – and to cherish what is truly important, what we choose, and not what society dictates.

So, if you haven´t gifted yourself with valuable Me-Time, preferably with animals or in nature .… What are you waiting for?

Spring has sprung …. When are you going to spring into action?

Tiny Red Orchid

God´s infinite wisdom is constantly evident in the beauty and resilience of Mother Nature. Even tiny orchids defy gravity to grow upwards towards the life-giving sun, balanced upon delicate stalks. They open their colorful petals to share their exquisiteness with all who allow themselves to be amazed by its loveliness.

Thank God for all blessings, and live life amazed by the majesty of this wondrous Earth.

Stand tall and be its proud guardian!

Spring over Rougemont

Each season of the year holds its special magic; Mother Earth is enveloped by different colors, giving us wonderfully obvious hints of the moment in the cycle of life that she finds Herself in. Spring in the Swiss Alps allows me to enjoy the brilliant white of snow high up in the mountains, while the deep apple green of the spring slopes contrasts vividly, highlighted by the slanting light of the setting sun!

Never forget that we always have new opportunities to blossom & flourish, shedding old, painful lessons & experiences, just like Nature does every single year!

Enjoy every moment, every opportunity & every blessing!

Above all … Thrive!

“I realized that thriving was far more livable and present than achieving.” Beebe Bahrami

While reading the wonderful book “Café Oc: A Nomad’s Tales of Magic, Mystery, and Finding Home in the Dordogne of Southwestern France” by Beebe Bahrami, the abovementioned quote jumped from the page.

I truly believe that we should always focus on doing our best, giving our 100% (whatever that may be on any given day), and feel proud of ourselves.

If any recognition or prize derive from this, well, excellent; however, what should be in our hearts & minds is not the need to win or achieve, but the importance of learning and flourishing.

When we focus upon achieving & winning, we constantly fear “losing,” whereas, when our emphasis is upon thriving, we enjoy the learning process, feel joyous, and spread our light.

Compete to win, but against yourself and your previous achievements, not to defeat others.

Pawprints in my Heart

My thoughts are with you always,

Regardless of how far you have physically gone;

No matter that more than seven years have passed since you crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

I love you! I miss you! But, above all else, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful times we shared, and for all the lessons you left us!

Not a person went by who was not touched by your presence.

All of you, fluffy loves of my heart, have left strong imprints of your paw-sitive path in our lives!

God bless you today & always!

“In the beginning was the Word…and the Word was God.” John 1:1

But what does that Word mean? What, or who, does it stand for? For me, God represents the wondrous, almighty Creator of all living beings, of our beautiful Earth, & of all the Cosmos; a loving parent who wants us to fulfill our individual destinies, but who grants us freedom of will. The spark of light & love from whom we all descend, and whom we, hopefully, should aspire to follow.

Just like there are different interpretations of the Word of God, there are also distinct views of how we perceive life & the possibilities it offers: I invite you to see this gate, on a misty morning in Eton, UK, as a portal towards endless opportunities of happiness, fulfillment, light & love. Open yourselves to appreciate the little details of everyday life, & see miracles sprouting all around! Join us on this adventure towards finding Heaven on Earth!

Mother Earth

“The majesty of Mother Earth may be enjoyed at any time of day or night, at any moment of the year, and during any weather. It is just a matter of opening our eyes, heart and mind to her beauty & serenity, to the solace & comfort she offers us, as well as to the opportunities that appear once we allow ourselves to be awed, to be grateful, & to be appreciative!”

Our intention …

Through our work we seek to encourage people towards appreciating, respecting and caring for Mother Earth and animals, as well as to discover lovely places around our world. We hope that our thoughts, photos, and reflections may inspire you to shine your own light & love upon all living beings. We would like to contribute our grain of sand towards a better, more beautiful & more humane world, encouraging others to experience Heaven on Earth! Our planet has so many spots of great beauty that may not be as well known, so one of the things we want to share with you are precisely those places that have captured our hearts & imagination. We invite you to lovingly explore those places & those natural wonders, to see the sights & to cherish the animals, becoming aware of the unique role that we play in this world. May the Lord bless you and your loving, kind actions towards all living beings!!
